Empowering Excellence: MW’s Inspiring 2023 Learning Journey

Milender White (MW) is celebrating its 26th year of making a positive impact on our communities through innovative building projects. And with each passing year, we also build our culture as a learning organization, creating new opportunities to advance the development journey of every team member.

Bryon White, President and CEO, emphasizes that learning is at the core of our organization. “We firmly believe in and create concrete learning processes, inspirational leadership that fosters continuous development, and comprehensive training and mentoring for everyone involved.”

In 2023, our commitment to learning is soaring to new heights. Our craft teams are currently enrolled in the MW Inclusive Builders Program, an 18-month initiative designed to elevate skills, leadership and communication abilities, and to provide career advancement. The program aims to equip our builders with valuable tools for personal and professional growth. Many of our craft team members are also sponsored by MW as they complete continuing education through the Construction Industry Training Council.

“As a builder of builders, we work hard to deliver a systematic, process-driven educational path for our team members. The complex construction and development industry offers an incredible opportunity to practice strong technical, professional, leadership, and client relationship skills,” says Adam Mack, Southern California District Manager and Executive Vice President.

MW challenges our young Project Engineers and Superintendents through the Future Leaders Program. This extended learning cohort provides young leaders with a roadmap for developing crucial business and technical acumen, strategic thinking, relationship-building abilities, and personal growth.

For Senior Project Managers and Superintendents, MW’s Senior Leaders Program advances team leadership skills and deepens each senior leader’s understanding of and commitment to transformational leadership practices.

At MW, we believe that investing in our team members’ growth benefits not only them but also our clients and partners. That is why we utilize the Extended DISC tool to help our team members understand their natural behavior traits and improve their communication and interaction skills. We also provide training in advanced time and task management, difficult conversations, and mental health awareness to round out skill sets.

Morgan Lysohir, Rocky Mountain District Manager and Senior Vice President, emphasizes that our learning program extends beyond our internal teams. “We involve our clients and partners in improved partnership experiences by sharing the Extended DISC tool during project formation. This fosters effective communication, problem-solving, and project efficiency skills, recognizing that the construction industry is ultimately about people.”]
