As part of MW’s continuing Beyond Building campaign to build a brighter future for our children, Milender White (MW) invited partners from across the construction industry to the 22nd annual charity golf tournament on June 10th at the Fox Hollow Golf Club in Lakewood, CO.
One hundred eighty-eight golfers including 42 trade partners and construction professionals joined MW for a shotgun-start best-ball classic, a hearty lunch buffet, and a raffle and auction – and when the day was done, the group effort raised $160,000 for organizations doing great work on behalf of children and families across Colorado.
The annual Milender White golf tournament has raised over $1 million for children’s causes over the past two decades! This year’s tournament sold out in advance and featured more than 35 sponsors and donors. Top event sponsors were Alliant, Baker Concrete Construction, Power Design, Sensera Systems, Exceed Electrical Contracting, Colorado Hardscapes, Ironview 360, Kraemer North America, Red Rock Construction and UFP Industries.
Last year, we distributed $127,500 to more than a dozen local organizations. This year the funds raised will once again support local children’s charities like the Golden Backpack Program, AMP the Cause, Brent’s Place, Andy’s House, Book Trust and Family Tree. This year’s event featured the Marshmallow Drive, the Stump Game, and a chance to earn a trip to Pebble Beach with the help of a golf pro. With 27 challenging holes at Fox Hollow, there was fun to be had and prizes to be won. Prizes ranged from an e-bike, a hotel stay at the MW-renovated Crawford Hotel in Denver Union Station with a dinner at Urban Farmer, and a hand-crafted giant Jenga made by MW’s own Kris Nutt, Project Superintendent as well as many other donated prizes.
Team winners featured first through fourth place teams and a 22nd place team in honor of our 22nd annual tournament. A special team award “the most honest team” went to the last-place finishers. The event brought our values alive –
