This month, 20 years ago, Mike Milender and I opened the doors to Milender White in the basement of my Westminster home. A year later, after moving into our first office in Arvada, Darren Hinton joined us on our journey. We knew we could bring our different experiences and backgrounds to build something special based on our training, values and strong work ethic. The company has evolved into an innovative, diverse group that provides great service to our clients with a total commitment to safety, quality and integrity.
As I look back at our 20 years of business, I’m so proud of what WE have accomplished. Milender Whitenow employs 120 people in two offices located in Colorado and California and has more 400 years of experience in our Five-Plus-Club (employees who have been with us for 5+ years).
We continue to be honored that some of the best people in the industry work for Milender White. Our team never ceases to amaze me. In the past few months, we won our fourth national Excellence in Construction Eagle Award, broke ground on a 16-story high-rise building in Downtown Denver (a second high-rise announcement coming next week) and completed another milestone pour on our 950 E. Third Street project in Southern California, one of the most significant residential projects in downtown Los Angeles. We celebrate our incredible employees, as their hard work has made MW what it is today. Thank you all for being an amazing team.
Milender White has also had the privilege of working for some amazing clients, owners and developers. Customers like you allow us to do business in an industry we know and love. Thank you for being great partners.
We also celebrate our excellent vendors and subcontractors who consistently provide loyalty and amazing work on our sites. Additionally, we thank the many architects and engineers who have provided us with repeat projects and incredible working relationships.
It’s been a special 20 years, and we are taking the opportunity to celebrate. We created a 20th Anniversary logo for 2017 and for the next 20 weeks we’ll highlight company milestones from each year in business. Additionally, we are initiating 20 Acts of Outreach throughout the year, which will include our annual work with Denver-based Amp the Cause, our annual charity golf tournament, community service days and more.
