Construction Co-Pilots: Milender White and DEN

October 31, 2025 – Denver, CO

What’s better than landing an on-call construction contract with one of North America’s major airports? Landing five more.

Since 2010, Denver International Airport (DEN) has turned to Milender White (MW) for new vertical construction and crucial facility upgrades and renovations. The work has been highly varied, from deep in the terminals to out on the airport periphery, but landside and airside, there has been a common thread – the professionalism and performance MW has shown to validate the airport’s trust in its abilities. MW secured its fifth on-call contract with DEN in 2025 and will be competing for work at the airport well into the 2030s – and in October, it was awarded its first on-call infrastructure contract at DEN to bid for roadway, runway and ground facility task orders.

“At Milender White, we see each task order at DEN as more than just a project – it’s a chance to strengthen relationships and deliver solutions that support the Airport’s long-term vision. Working at one of North America’s premier transportation hubs challenges us to innovate and collaborate at the highest level, and I’m proud of the work we do with DEN and our trade partners to contribute to its continued growth and success,” says Michael Friedler, Preconstruction Manager at MW.

When DEN issues a task order for a general contractor, MW routinely responds to the opportunity and submits a highly competitive bid. MW’s dedicated DEN team consistently meets the challenges of working in a busy airport environment. Our professionals build strong relationships with DEN leadership, vendors, major airlines, and key agencies such as the TSA, FAA, and Department of Homeland Security.

Here are some of the most notable DEN projects completed or underway by MW.

  • TJET PLB Replacement – MW replaced ten Passenger Loading Bridges (PLBs) and associated equipment, installing emergency communication, fire alarm, and fire suppression systems in Concourses A and B in two phases.
  • Concourse C West 5-Gate Expansion – MW constructed the 77,000 sq. ft., two-level, pre-cast concrete shell for the Terminal C addition.
  • Concourse C Core Escalators Replacement – MW removed and replaced four escalators in Jeppesen Terminal, making extensive structural modifications to double the terminal’s escalator capacity.
  • AGTS South Terminal Switch Addition – Working deep in the Jeppesen Terminal, we enabled DEN to extend its automated people mover that transports passengers 24/7. We built and installed this addition while full airport and aircraft operations were underway.
  • Concourse B Bathroom Renovations – MW has performed most of the first phase of this large-scale renovation.

MW is about to start the second phase of restroom renovations in Concourse B and looks forward to opportunities to perform roadway and infrastructure work for the airport.

MW prioritizes public and worker safety as it works at DEN and proactively provides solutions to construction challenges, ensuring DEN leadership can rely on our team. As MW regularly meets and exceeds the airport’s MWBE hiring commitments, it trains and supports its MWBE trade partners, creating lasting partnerships and expanding the roster of qualified construction firms eligible to work at DEN.

Our people, our knowledge, and the proactive way we work – all of it helps us win and deliver task orders at the biggest transportation hub in the Mountain West.
