Mile High Youth Corps Helps MW Build

YouthBuild participants mobilized on the jobsite on October 3, 2011.

They worked with Milender White staff for three days each week through project completion in January 2012. There were a total of 34 participants that were divided into two groups of 17. Each group alternated between working onsite and studying in the classroom so that every week there was a team of 17 participants and two supervisors on the jobsite for three days during the week.

The Mile High Youth Corps (MHYC) YouthBuild Program significantly impacted the overall success of MW’s Tapiz at Mariposa project.

Participants worked alongside Milender White professionals learning about and installing rooftop solar panels. They also worked with the mechanical subcontractor to help achieve the project’s indoor air quality management plan by installing commercial-rated air filters and air duct protection. Other participants worked with other trades including drywall, paint, flooring, carpentry, plumbing and electrical.
