Milender White, in partnership with Gilmore Construction Corporation, Evergreen Real Estate Group, Rocky Mountain Communities, and a coalition of public and private partners, proudly celebrated the groundbreaking of the 4995 Washington Street development in Denver’s Globeville neighborhood, marking a major milestone in a project designed to address housing affordability and community resources while celebrating neighborhood resilience.
The event brought together project partners, community leaders, and stakeholders to recognize the collaboration and perseverance required to bring the vision to life. The development represents a significant investment in the Globeville community, responding directly to ongoing pressures of gentrification and displacement.

The 4995 Washington Street project will feature a five-story, 250,000-square-foot mass-timber building, positioned to become the largest mass-timber affordable housing development in the United States. The development will include:

The groundbreaking celebration was hosted by Project Angel Heart, whose support helped make the event a meaningful gathering for all involved.
Construction is underway, with completion anticipated in Q4 2027. Upon completion, the project will stand as a model for equitable development, delivering housing stability, access to resources, and spaces that strengthen community connections for generations to come.
