Alliant Communities selected Milender White (MW) to build its fourth and largest mixed-use apartment building in the San Fernando Valley, with AC Martin as the architect. Sona, a 332-unit project including 37 affordable units, is scheduled for completion in late 2026.

Sona rises six stories, with five levels of wood-frame construction above a concrete podium (Type IIIA/IA). The project occupies an L-shaped lot with entrances on both Van Nuys Boulevard and Vose Street. Along the boulevard, 4,105 sq. ft. of retail space is planned.

The design of this Transit-Oriented Community (TOC) includes multiple interior and exterior amenity spaces, including a dog run and dog spa. The second floor of the 377,606 sq. ft. project features three distinct courtyards; two rooftop decks are also incuded. A street-level garage offers residential and retail parking for 180 cars.

Sona presents an appealing “new urban” community in the heart of the Valley, in a neighborhood where apartment construction is accelerating to meet demand. MW is pleased to inaugurate a relationship with Alliant Communities on this project and collaborate once again with AC Martin.
