Aspinwall is Phase II of the Josephine Commons development providing below-market-rate housing for active seniors. The community includes 72 apartments: 54 units within 11 two-story townhome buildings and 18 units in one- and two-story duplexes. A 4,000 sq. ft. community building completes the picture. The entire project encompasses 93,772 sq. ft.
The Boulder County Housing Authority developed Josephine Commons with three goals in mind: high-quality construction, long-term affordability, and sustainability. The site and structures incorporate renewable energy technologies such as geothermal heating and cooling, photovoltaic electric panels, and solar thermal heating. The project meets the Enterprise Green Communities Certification Criteria as required by the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA).
