Milender White (MW), Coburn Architecture and Boulder Housing Partners (BHP) are teaming up again to help the City of Boulder address its affordable housing needs. MW is the general contractor for Rally Flats, a community that BHP will manage. These 100 apartments will be permanently affordable.
Designed as a three-building courtyard development, Rally Flats will contain 525 sq. ft. studios up to 1,100 sq. ft. two-bedroom units. Located a short walk from the intersection of 28th and Valmont, the project is within Boulder’s Opportunity Zone, an area with plenty of stores and businesses that is primed for affordable housing. Residents will be close to retail and job centers, with a chance to live where they work.
Rally Flats will have sunlit and shaded “flex space” for dog walking, exercise and gathering, including an outdoor “raingarden” and a community meeting area and conference room. At grade, the project will offer 82 parking spaces (some covered) and long-term bike parking within locked, fenced enclosures.
The trio of three-story buildings are Type V-B construction (wood frame).
