726 Excelsior Place
Lafayette, CO

Type: Government, Multi-Unit Residential

Owner: Boulder County Housing Authority

Architect: HB&A

Project Summary

Aspinwall is Phase II of the Josephine Commons development and includes 72 apartment units: 54 units within 11 two-story townhome buildings and 18 units in one- and two-story duplexes. There is also a 4,000 sq. ft. community building. The entire project encompasses 93,772 sq. ft.

The Boulder County Housing Authority developed Josephine Commons to meet three goals – high quality, long-term affordability, and sustainability. The site and structures incorporate renewable energy technologies such as geothermal heating and cooling, photovoltaic electric panels, and solar thermal heating. The project meets the 2012 Enterprise Green Communities Certification Criteria as required by Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA).

Milender White was also responsible for earthwork, utility services, asphalt pavement, public and private streets, sidewalks, landscaping, solar carports, community green, and miscellaneous improvements on this 9.5 acre site, including utility main lines.
