DIA Concourse C West Five Gate Expansion

8500 Peña Blvd
Denver, CO

Type: Government

Owner: Denver International Airport

Architect: Wong Strauch Architects, PC

Project Summary

The five gate westerly expansion of Concourse C at Denver International Airport was completed by three general contractors under separate contracts. Milender White completed the construction of the building shell (weather tight enclosure). The 77,000 sq. ft., two-level, pre-cast concrete addition adjoins the existing concourse to provide passenger hold rooms, passenger circulation, concessions, bathrooms, customer service areas and mechanical rooms.

A second contractor completed the apron concrete paving and a third contractor completed the interior and HVAC systems. The combined work required extensive coordination with DIA, Southwest Airlines and each general contractor working on site simultaneously.

The project is LEED Gold Certified.
