“Some people don’t get to grow up in normal.”
These closing words from keynote speaker Todd Tungan captured just how much the recent Tennyson Center renovation means to its residents. While most of us take clean showers and a simple gym for granted, those everyday comforts make a profound difference for the children at Tennyson.
Todd, an ASPEN teacher and the keynote speaker at the 2026 HomeAid Fundraising Breakfast, is a dedicated educator with a big heart.
MW recently completed the renovation of the Tennyson Center in partnership with HomeAid. One of the major efforts was the transformation of the Huston Miller Cottage, a fulltime residential home for youth who rely on the Center for stability and structure. The building now offers refreshed living spaces, updated systems, and thoughtful touches designed to give its young residents a safe, modern, and dignified place to call home. The MW team and partners contributed their time and craftsmanship as a charitable effort, helping advance the Center’s mission to provide care, support, and consistency for children who need it most.
Ryan Messmore, MW’s project manager, was honored as HomeAid’s Volunteer of the Year. Milender White is deeply moved by Ryan’s commitment and proud to support the Tennyson Center for Children.
HomeAid’s mission—helping families and individuals facing homelessness through building, renovating, and expanding safe spaces—aligns deeply with this project. Their work is powered by community involvement, and those who want to support future efforts can donate directly through HomeAid’s website to help extend these lifechanging resources.
