Rio Blanco County Communication Tower

Rio Blanco County
Meeker, CO

Type: Government, Utility & Infrastructure

Owner: Rio Blanco County Sheriff's Office

Architect: Centerlin Solutions, LLC

Project Summary

Milender White erected three new communication towers, including foundations and equipment buildings, on three sites in Rio Blanco County. The Marvine Hill, Pollard Hill and Tee Pee Park tower sites are located on mountain tops outside of Meeker, Colorado.

Each project site was considered a raw land new build. Access was difficult for equipment and concrete trucks due to the remote and rugged locations. Crews removed trees and shrubs and leveled each site prior to any construction. Rio Blanco County purchased each site from local land owners specifically for these projects. The allotted tower sites had very tight space constraints that made engineering and layout a critical component.

The new towers allow Rio Blanco County to increase public safety communication. The Tee Pee Park tower is utilized by multiple parties including Rio Blanco County, Union Cellular, White River Electric and Shell Oil allowing for better cell phone coverage, interoperability communication and public safety communication.
